2011-2012

It's only fair that I jump on the bandwagon! So many things have happened this year and I feel like I've left so much out. I've been so busy this year and for that reason I set my "goal" for 2012 to be the year of Simplicity!

Let's do a quick recap, shall we?
January- the hubs was offered a job in AR.
February- the hubs moved to AR.
March- we celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary and I moved back to my parents. HAAAA! I just realized how terrible funny that sounds.
April- the hubs turned 30! I had about 7 inches of hair cut off!
May- I turned 27 another year older too!
June- Brad was working about 100 hours a week and we rarely saw each other.
July- pretty much the same as June! We celebrated Independence Day at his boss' house with several people.
August- Chloe started Kindergarten, Jenessa got married, and we got our first offer on our house!!! Woot woot!
September-We closed on the Hinkle House and I said farewell. I broke my tailbone and Brad and I went to a huge airshow in TN. Chloe turned six!
October- We had a family picnic at Tishomingo State Park. We left on Halloween for Fort Pierce, FL AND we found out that Brad had won 2nd place for a scholarship!
November- We spent 10 days in FL while Brad was in school. It was awkward actually "living" with each other again, but so nice! We found out that Brad would stay in AR through the winter rather than coming back to MS like we had planned.
December- We were in Las Vegas for 6 days for the NAAA Convention for Brad to receive his award {and check}. We did a few touristy things, but decided Vegas isn't really our style. Chloe had her first school program and she was the cutest Sugarplum Fairy! She also said her long part without messing up or getting all nervous and freaking out! :) We had six Christmas gatherings {Brad made 4}.

How did we end 2011? We ate at a pizza place, then went to a friends house where the guys watched football and the girls watched a movie. We were home before 1130 and Brad and Amos were both snoring at 12. I told myself "Happy New Year" and did a little fist pump. Yeah, at this rate, I'm not sure how boring we will be in another few years!

What's planned for 2012? Not sure! Ha! Brad will be in AR and I'll be in MS and we'll probably be this way for most of the year.

My goals for 2012? I will not have goals this year. I have a to-do list, though!
To-do for 2012:
1. Save more, spend less
2. Get rid of baggage {clothes, shoes, house things, etc}
3. Do something fun more often {I hardly had time for fun things in 2011 so I want to change that!}
4. Save for a new-to-me car
5. Simplify my life in general
6. Get organized again

I plan on keeping this blog up to date as well. I might not have much to talk about, but I still want to remember the small things :)

Las Vegas!!

Sunday, December 4th, Brad and I flew out of Memphis headed west! We had a short stop in LA {which ended up taking twice as long} then on to Las Vegas!
The view from our room!

Another view

The reason we were IN Vegas! Brad accepted his award! :)

Ignore the goofy face-- see the red splotches all over the left side of his head? He burned himself with grease!!

The lights were my favorite part!

Look at that view!

Waiting on our next flight from LA to Vegas... Brad wasn't too happy!

Brad accepting his award and posing with a guy from BASF and the 2011 President of the NAAA

He was interviewed! You can find it on www.agwired.com.

The ladies took a trip to Saks Fifth Avenue for a little shopping trip. We met Jo AND the $400 candle... $400!!!

I know nothing about betting, but the Hilton had this little area stashed in the back- complete with comfy chairs and these gigantic tv screens!

We also toured the Cowboy Christmas Expo next door and I found these!

Fremont Street! {Old Vegas}

He was missing his four front top teeth and smelled awful... OMGeee awful.

This tree was in the Treasure Island Casino {We went to Gilley's} and will be the inspiration for my 2012 tree!

What I had waiting on me when we got back... :(
 MERRY CHRISTMAS AND I PROMISE TO CATCH UP SOON!!!

Fort Pierce, Florida

Brad applied to an Ag school in Fort Pierce, Florida a few months ago! Basically, you go to the school and they teach you how to fly a crop duster rather than a regular plane {and be safe about it!}. Our plans changed at the last minute and we went from a trip planned for 4-5 days to one for 9-10 days!! We ended up renting a car and driving a good bit on Monday {Halloween}. I had to work that day so we headed out as soon as I got finished at work and got changed. We drove from Corinth to Dothan, AL and stopped for the night then drove the rest of the way on Tuesday. We did make one pit stop in Daytona Beach though :) From November 1st- 8th, Brad was busy with classes and practices and learning and studying! But we did find time to visit the beach twice, eat at a few local joints, do some shopping and enjoy our time off! Wednesday, November 9th was his "test" and he passed with "flying colors" :) Haha! We loaded up the little rental car and headed North! Our plans were to stop 1/2 way and rest for the night since it was 4pm when we left the Outlet Malls, but Brad decided last minute to drive through the night. Talk about TOUGH!! Let's just say the ole broken butt bone wasn't too happy about this little decision!!

I'll spare the other details for now and leave you with a few lot of pictures!

Remember the captain that was kidnapped off the coast of Somalia? This is what they took him in! More on this later.

My present for myself ;)
I'll be back next week with more. Being off work for two weeks is great, but then you come back to two weeks of work waiting on you! BLAH!
