Friday 15

I have absolutely no idea where to start with a catch up post. Things have been bananas lately! I'm going to post the first 15 thoughts that pop into my head. Bare with me... :)
  1. We sold the house! I'm still sad and happy that I've only stalked it once.
  2. We moved everything into a storage unit. I spent lots and lots of time researching and organizing. I can honestly say I know where 95% of things are. Plus they're packed away with dryer sheets {to keep bugs away}, wooden pallets {to keep things off the floor}, drop cloths {to keep the wood furniture protected}, plastic, mouse poison, moisture catcher thingys and lots of bug spray. I feel much better now.
  3. I still haven't finished unpacking and organizing the apartment though. There are about 3 more tubs I need to work on. It doesn't help that Brad has moved in some of his hunting crap things already.
  4. I would have liked to finish the unpacking part, but I've been busy lately. Plus I can't sit in the floor to sort through things or sit on the couch and bend over digging in plastic tubs.
  5. My broken tail bone seems to be healing nicely. I'm very impatient though and want it to be done with... NOW. Combine that with the fact that I forget it's broken and then bad things happen. Long drives (over 30 minutes) are still not fun; neither is sitting at my desk at work.
  6. Brad and I went to an air show in Millington, TN a few weeks ago (pics to come soon) and had a good time. This was before I knew my tail bone was broken. I couldn't figure out why I was hurting SO badly. I was sitting in one of those folding chairs that you carry in a bag and I could barely move at the end of the show (almost 3 hour drive, 6 hour show and 3 hour drive home). I normally have a good tolerance for pain, but that was driving me crazy!!
  7. The next week Brad went to another one in Halls, TN or somewhere around there. He took a ride in a cool plane (pics to come). I stayed home :)
  8. Last weekend I drove to AR and met Brad at his workplace. We hopped in a plane and flew south to Inverness, MS for "Duster Doings". Basically this older ag pilot lets all of his ag pilot friends fly in and spend the day swapping stories and eating. It was an hour flight down and then a little more than an hour back {strong wind!} and so flippin' bumpy. It was my first flight in a 4 seater plane and my first flight to ride in the backseat {I don't even ride in the backseat of a car!!}. I didn't throw up, but I did come close on the flight back!
  9. Brad is registered for a week long ag course in Ft. Pierce, Florida! Guess who will be taking a week vacation and going with him? Me! The room is booked and the rental car is booked and we're ready to go! Just a few more weeks... I'm going to miss Amos though!! I've never been away from him for this long before. Amos is a special needs dog so I'm worried about him, but I know my mom and dad will take good care of him!
  10. Courtney {my sis} turned 29 and Chloe turned 6 last week. We partied Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday! I was party pooped out!
  11. I have no idea what this weekend holds and that's ok... I have a few things in mind.
  12. Monday is Columbus Day!! That means no work for me Monday!! Woot woot! I'm thrilled about this. Over the moon excited. I'm so ready for a day off.
  13. My mom, sister, niece and I plan on shopping Monday. Lord help us! Chloe hates shopping, I'm crippled, mom's crippled and Courtney has a heart condition. Fun times! Ha! Court and Clo are going on a cruise soon so they're looking for cruise clothes. Chloe needs fall clothes. Mom is just going {although we might convince her to buy a thing or two}. I'm in desperate need of fall clothes. I have sweaters, plenty of sweaters, but nothing to wear in fallish weather.
  14. Amos threw up four times this week. I have no idea why. He's such a sickly dog. He started chewing on his toy last night so I think he's finally feeling better.
  15. I plan on posting pictures very soon! I have so many I need to upload and edit and hopefully I'll have time to do that soon.
Happy Friday!!!

Friday Five

This week's Friday Five will be a tad on the boring side, but I'm posting them anyway!

1. I'm having lunch tomorrow with my "Bunco girls". We used to meet once a month at someone's house to eat and play Bunco. Before long it was more like chatting and a round or two of Bunco. Now we only meet to eat! HA! And chat :) In fact, we haven't all gotten together since last fall. Pretty much everyone in the group is either married or a mom or both or some sort of busy so it's hard for all of us to get together. Tomorrow should be fun since we'll have plenty to talk about :)

2. After lunch, Whitney and I are headed straight to the theater. We've narrowed it down to Bridesmaids or Fast Five. Chick-flick comedy or Vin Diesel? We.cannont.decide. It's Vin, people?! Whit and I both have a love for Vin. What girl doesn't? His voice, his skin, his perfectly bald head... I wont' tell you how long it took me to google pictures of him; just couldn't decide...

3. Brad is hopefully coming in this weekend; if not, then I'll be heading to Arkansas again.

4. Let's hope Brad can come in; our grass is in desperate need of mowing! Other than that, Hinkle is pretty well maintained. Now if only I could keep the apartment clean! :)

5. I hope to fit in my Sweet Saturday this weekend. I've been thinking about another Sonic Double Stuf Oreo blast since it's only here for a limited time, a Rolo McFlurry {never had one}, Jimmy John's ice cream again, or a sno-cone. Maybe Brad can help me decided!

Happy weekend everyone!!

Friday Five or Fifteen?!

I used to do this thing called "Friday Five" a very long time ago. It's been so long that I thought I would try to get back into the habit of posting again... Anywho, let's start off with five random things:

1. Amos has never been fond of storms, but he's never really been afraid of them either. Until now. This Wednesday we were supposed to have more bad weather {in fact, Brad was sent home from work and told to find some place safe}. We've had a few spells in the past few weeks and Amos hasn't really acted up. Until now. Brad was so tired when he got in Wednesday that he ended up falling asleep on the couch. I was watching the radar so I knew when it was supposed to hit. First the rain picked up, then the lightening and finally loud roars of thunder. You could almost feel the high winds inside of our little apartment. It was right at bedtime so I was doing the bedtime routine {washing my face, letting Amos out, taking my nightly meds, etc...} and of course it would be time for Amos to go potty before bedtime. Do you know how hard it is to make a dog that size go potty in heavy rain/winds and constant lightening and thunder? Nearly impossible. He finally got outside and then froze! I could read his mind-- "NO WAY I'M GETTING OUT IN THIS. MOM IS NUTS IF SHE THINKS I'M GOING TO BE ABLE TO DO MY BUSINESS RIGHT NOW?!?!" After much work on both of our parts he finally finished up and ran back inside. I dried him off and WHAM?! More heavy thunder and lightening. The house shook and the lights flickered and you could hear loud pops! I was determined to go to bed and not worry too much. {Silly me}. Next thing I know, my sweet Amos is barking and jumping and attempting to howl every time something happened. Thunder? BARK! Lightening? BARK! JUMP! More thunder? BARK! {Brad still sleeping- by now he is in the fetal position and completely unaware of anything}. Loud bowling ball alley sounding thunder? BARK! JUMP! HOWL! BARK! BARK! Surely you get the point. Now, at this time I have crawled out of the bed and I am in the floor with him and he is shaking like a leaf out in the storm. The thunderstorm lasted 47 hours almost an hour. I was completely beside myself by then and laying in the floor with Amos trying to keep him calm. It was a long night. So, if you find yourself down and out just picture me laying in the floor trying to console my sweet, terrified 190 pound English Mastiff while my *&%*#%& darling husband slept in the fetal position.

2. Kayla and I went to watch Something Borrowed last night and I loved it! No, it wasn't as good as the book, BUT it was a great movie. I hear there is going to be a part two- Something Blue- so I'm excited about that as well!

3. Before the movie started we watched several previews and have started our list of what we want to watch next. First up is Abduction and the next one is One Day.

4. Monday is Memorial Day {and my three day weekend}! Woot woot!! I have absolutely no plans at this point, but I'm sure something will come up. Brad doesn't know his weekend work schedule, but maybe he'll get to come in and grill me a burger!

5. Tomorrow is Sweet Saturday, but at this point I'm not in the mood for ice cream {HELLO? WHAT?!?! This is a first. Period. Ever.}. I'm really wanting a Big Mac {hold the onion and pickle}! HA! I don't want to eat all of it- just a few bites of that burger and special sauce to eat with a small handful of French fries. YUM.

6. Kayla and I "splurged" on the kid meal {this eating healthy thing is slowly, slowly, slowly getting better} at the Malco last night- tiny order of popcorn and drink along with some fruit snacks! Actually, it was probably a solid adult serving- portion sizes are nuts in America! We ate it slowly and tried to make it last as long as we could {or at least that's what I did}.

7. While we were waiting on the movie to start I noticed my grandmother come in all by herself. I motioned for her to come sit with us and she did. She had brought Savannah and a couple of friends to watch a movie. It was fun getting to spend a few minutes with her!

8. Last Friday, I showed the house to a couple. They seemed very interested in it; in fact, they said they were going to the bank Monday. Today is Friday. I haven't heard from them. Not at all. No "hey, we're working on paperwork." No "we were denied a loan". No "we changed our mind". No "my husband got abducted by aliens." Nothing. Rude. Very rude.

9. While at the branch today I was offered a fun size Snickers bar. I said "no". I deserve a treat for saying no, right?! :)

10. I had a breakfast meal from McDonald's this morning. We always eat out on Friday mornings but I've been trying to find something healthy to eat for breakfast at a fast food place and haven't had much luck. Anyway, I had hotcakes and they were melt-in-your-mouth good. So, to make up for the breakfast I had, I skipped lunch and had two packs of 100 calorie cookies. HA! Yes, I realize that is not the best decision I've made, but today has been nutso so that's what I went with.

11. I just realized that on my agenda this weekend will be making sure our grass gets mowed at our house and that our new flag gets put out on the porch. Brad better come in because I'm done and over mowing!

12. My sister, brother-in-law and niece will be camping this weekend so we won't get to see them :(

13. My new swimsuits came in yesterday {early!}. They fit, but that's all I'll say. I have to return a few pieces since I bought multiple to try on, but I ended up with two sets!

14. My new swimsuits will be displayed somewhere very visable in my aparment so I can remind myself that in less than three weeks I'll be wearing them!! Also, I will take a pic and save it as the background on my phone. Every little reminder helps, right?! :)

15. I found a few more pictures on mom's camera I wanted to post. These are from my birthday :)

This is my "deer in the headlights" look. What do you think?

Friday Five X 3

Not much has happened lately!

1. I finished up banking school {see post below}!
2. We celebrated with a bbq at our house Saturday, the 17th, once I got home and took a 3 1/2 hour nap. It was heaven. Brad bar-b-qued a Boston butt, ribs, two whole chickens, and chicken quarters; plus "all the fixin's".
3. Levi, Brad and myself went to see Clash of the Titans at the theater. It was definitely an action movie with a good bit of history mixed in. I have a friend that's Greek so I appreciated the history lesson.
4. A "lovely" neighborhood cat ripped into our garbage that night and pulled out ALL of the aluminum foil from the bbq. Amos found it and disposed of it for us Monday morning (yes, he ate it). So after a quick panic and a trip to the vet he got some wonderful medicine to take care of his problem. I bet he won't eat aluminum foil again!
5. Brad finally bought a new lawn mower. I was super impressed since it has taken him two years to come to the conclusion that he absolutely had to have one. He and I are both much happier now. He can just zip around on his zero-turn and finish the yard in a day. Now, he can't complain about spending the week choking and gagging on smoke from the other one! :) HA!

6. Whitney and I had lunch together last week. She's getting ready to move to Oxford soon {as in this week} and it hurts my feelings that she's going to be leaving me!! Although, I'm sure she'll appreciate living in the same house as her husband! Yep, he's been staying with a friend in Oxford for several months now and coming home on the weekends.
7. We went back to Dr. Linton in Columbus last Friday. He said Brad is still improving and looking good. Great news! He will still continue with therapy 3x a week for another month until we go back May 24.
8. Last Saturday we had some rough weather. Tornado watches and warnings were all over the area and we got some strong wind and rain for a while. It finally cleared about about lunch time. Later that night we went to Chapman's with some friends for Brittany's 25th birthday. I didn't get any pictures though :(
9. Tuesday I had to take my car to get two new hubs only to find out I needed axles instead. This is a good thing because axles are 1/2 the price of hubs! Woohoo!
10. Wednesday, Whitney and I went to see Date Night for her birthday {which was Tuesday}. It was a really funny movie and we were the only two in the theater! That's a plus!

11. Thursday after work, Brad flew to Tupelo and picked Charles up and flew down to Starkville, grabbed a bite to eat and flew back. He got home about 10:30, but he had a great time. He loves flying any change he can get {especially when he can fly with someone!}.
12. While Brad was gone Jenessa and I took the top off her Jeep and took a tour through town. The weather was nice, but it was a little windy. We also got milkshakes at Sonic and chit-chatted for a while- mainly about my lack of living things around my house.
13. After seeing her accomplishments with her porch I hope to get some ferns this weekend and maybe a potted plant or two. I had some ferns last year that got pretty big so I hope I can do the same this year!
14. Pug and his children, Tyler and Haley, are supposed to be coming in this weekend. The weather is predicted to be terrible, but hopefully we can find something to do!
15. We're supposed to be having a big birthday bash Saturday for Curt {he turned 30 Thursday!} but with the weather they are predicting, I think they are going to postpone it until next weekend.

I won't number this since I'm already at 15, but Monday is my birthday so I hope to do something fun this weekend to celebrate! I know my mom's side of the family is eating at Chapman's Sunday for an early Mother's Day. My grandmother has to work on the real Mother's Day so we wanted to celebrate early! This has been a long, wordy post so I'll throw in a few pictures :)

Scratch that; it won't let me upload!

I just noticed that this will be my 100th post!

Not (Completely) Holiday Related

I haven't done a "Friday Five" in a while so I thought I'd so a little random posting today. Plus, I'm getting a little tired of the Christmas/New Year talk that's floating around. Not that I'm ready to just rush this year away, but that brings us to point #1...

1. I've noticed Valentine's Candy and things already on the shelves. Those shelves were straight across from the Christmas shelves. Do we really need Valentine candy out this soon? I'm trying to stick to my resolutions, but that's just hard to do.

2. It's so stinking cold in north Mississippi right now. We go from warm weather to freezing cold weather in one day. People's pipes are freezing, grocery stores are being emptied, talk about snow floating around, people needing their heat worked on are coming out of the woodwork this week, etc... Today is probably the warmest it's been in about a week, maybe. It's been staying in the low 30s in the day and the single digits early in the morning and again in the afternoon. Poor Amos HATES cold weather. Have I told you the funny stories already?

3. I plan on starting the ..... dum dum dum..... Twilight books this week or weekend. My sister gave me all four plus the first movie several weeks ago. Sadly, they've only been moved once and that was because I was trying to find somewhere to put them! Ha! I'll let you know later when I start the first one. Everyone keeps saying that when you pick it up you can't put it down, and let's face it people, when do I have time to sit and do nothing but read??

4. I'm so super excited about all of my shows coming back on!! I watched Biggest Loser last night (and was not happy about the outcome). Tonight is MERCY!! Then I'll have House and maybe CSI if I stick to it. Monday, a friend told me to turn it on to the Bachelor. Let's just say those girls are CRAZY. I didn't get to finish the show, but I saw enough to know they're crazy! He's a little hottie though so I plan on watching it again just to see how things go. I have watched two seasons of Bachelor and both did NOT end the way I wanted them too so I quit, but it might be time to check it out again. Do you remember Andrew Firestone and Travis Stork (the doctor from Nashville)?? Yep, they're why I quit watching that show.

5. I JUST realized that I did NOT get ANY of THESE?!?!?!? Holy Cow! How did that happen? I am usually obsessed with that box of goodness. This should show you just how hectic things have been lately. The sad part is that I just realized it... it's the sixth day of January! How could I forget?

I mean, would you look at that?? Who doesn't love these? I seriously can NOT believe I did NOT get ONE single bite. NOT ONE. I might just hit up the local bent and dent and see if they have any, because seriously... the stores have already cleared the Christmas and put out Valentine things.

P.S. I honestly didn't intend on this list having "five" random things on it, but that's just what happened. Now, I've got to get back to work...

Good News/Bad News

How or where should I start?

Good News:
Brad came home yesterday with two milkshakes.
Bad News:
He brought me vanilla instead of peanut butter b/c they told him they stopped selling peanut butter shakes! They are/were my favorite! :(

Good News:
I had a chocolate frosty from Wendy's today. I was starving for something chocolate.
Bad News:
It will be my last one for a long time. The girl informed me that Wendy's in Corinth will be closing its doors Sunday.

Good News:
Amos is no longer taking 8 pills a day!
Bad News:
It's because they weren't working!

Ok, enough with the good news/bad news! It's Friday, it is after lunch, and I only have to work 2 hours and 45 minutes until I can leave. This has been a whirlwind week. Levi has been in, we got new furniture, Amos has been sick, Brad's been working overtime, the to-do list has been growing, etc...
Tonight is my high school's first football game of the season! The Aggies will play at Adamsville, TN tonight. I would love to go IF it was a little cooler and IF Brad didn't have to work late and IF he was in a good mood from having an easy day. Who knows? We might end up going after all. You never know with us.
Tomorrow I've got a baby shower for a friend. Jade & Tyler Henry are having a little girl; her name will be Paisley. Too cute! Sunday I'm probably going to a friend's Southern Living at Home party. Brad wants me to go (to actually visit with other girls), but he doesn't realize if I go I'll probably spend money! Ha! He has had quite the week with Levi. They went to Mike's Friday night without me and went back Wednesday night to play darts. It's the busiest night of the week for Mike's. He enjoyed his bachelor time!

Friday Five
Five places I would rather be than at work:
1. Home
2. On a beach in Florida with a good book
3. In a cabin in the mountains (after the leaves have changed)
4. shopping for a new car (with someone else's money)
5. laying out next to a pool with one of those cute drinks with the umbrella in it...

Have a fabulous weekend!

It's Frrriiiidddaaayyy

Ok, have you ever had one of those weeks that sometime around, oh, I don't know, maybe Tuesday morning, you wish it was Friday afternoon? That's the type of week I've had. I know, I know, we aren't supposed to wish our lives away, but will one week hurt? :)

Last night, Brad and I met the Wilhites and the Garvins (Tim and Brittany) at a friend's restaurant. It was close to closing time and business was slow so the cook/owner Brandon and his wife Melanie came out to chat with us. Brandon's brother, Chris and wife Michelle came in and brought their two week old boy, Hayden. He is a doll! And so tiny! He's 19 1/4" long and weighs around 5 lbs. Just tiny, but he has super long arms and legs! We sat around talking and visiting then went back home. I took care of Amos, washed my face, and went straight to bed. It was NICE.

Friday Five

1. Yesterday was my mom's birthday. She's not very secretive about her age, so I'll tell you she turned 47. Yep, I have a young mom, and I love it.
2. Today is my dad's birthday. He is very secretive about his age, but I'll tell you anyway... He turns 51 today! He says he feels much older...
3. Last Saturday was their anniversary! They have been married 28 years.
4. After work I will be going to my parents' house to help celebrate. My mother-in-law is making them a caramel cake and we plan on eating... a lot.
5. Brad just informed me that Levi is back in town. He'll be keeping Brad company while I'm at my parents. I guess I could make him go with me, but I'll be the good wife and let him have a play date with Levi! Ha! :)
#6. Ok, so I know it's called "Friday Five" but you luck out today. I just found out my new bedroom furniture will be here WEDNESDAY. :) :) :) Maybe now I should tell my husband that I ordered it... hmm... I could just wait until it gets delivered to Taylor Heating & Air and let him see it. Should be interesting. My to-do list just got a lot longer for the weekend.

Friday Five Part 2
Five things I'll be doing this weekend:
1. Telling my husband I bought a new set of bedroom furniture.
2. Cleaning out the guest bedroom so we can put our old set in that room.
3. Making a trip to the storage building.
4. Visiting with Levi while he's in town.
5. Hopefully watching my mom and dad take off, fly, and land with Brad. That's what they wanted for their birthday. I have faith in mom, but dad? $5 says he'll chicken out!!

Hope you all have a great weekend!! The weather is supposed to be nice! :)

Friday Five

Today's Friday Five is going to be a little different. Excuse me if I sound grouchy! My car is slowly falling apart this week and things aren't going my way! (Wow, I sound bratty and selfish...)

Friday Five
1. My car is leaking anti-freeze/engine coolant. I need to take it to a repairman next week.
2. After an oil change, I found out that my car needs the radiator flushed. I need to take care of that next week too.
3. After working over time yesterday I discovered a flat tire. My tire shop closes at 530 and Brad's closes at 6 so we had to take it to Wal-Mart. They wouldn't fix it; something about company policy and where the nail was located. We took it this morning.
4. At this point I'm going to need 1 or 2 new tires and an alignment.
5. I took off half a day yesterday to go furniture shopping. I walked over 6 buildings at the market and finally set my eyes on the set. It was almost double what I wanted to spend, but after careful consideration I decided to buy it. I left my aunt with a blank check and headed to work. She called and said the salesman failed to mention a shipping fee. That was going to cost approximately 10-13% of the total of the bedroom set. I told her to tell them to forget it and leave. Apparently it was a sign that I didn't really need the furniture since a few short hours later I discovered that Prixie is sick and will need to be repaired.

It's only 10:30 so maybe by lunchtime or shortly after I'll be in a glass-half-full mood, but I'm just not sure. I have a ton of errands I'd like to take care of on my lunch break, but I don't have a car.

On a positive note, I'm very thankful for my car and the fact that she's paid for and the fact that she was my first car to ever buy and fully pay for. I'm very thankful because my car insurance is super cheap and Prixie gets great gas mileage. On a different positive note, I'm thankful that I can go shopping for furniture and I'm thankful for my job when so many people are jobless. I'm very thankful for my lenient boss letting me take half a day off to go furniture shopping and I'm thankful that this job is the reason I have money to go shopping.

*Added after lunch*
Ok, so, at lunch Brad picks me up to go get my car and it's not ready so we stop and get a few slugburgers and go to check on Amos. Fast forward an hour and I'm back at work and Brad calls. He asked if I wanted the good news or the bad news first. I take the good-- my tire is now fixed and no longer leaking. Then the bad; I need FOUR new tires and an alignment. I sure hope my weekend is better. :)

Friday Five

I am so happy today is Friday. Thrilled, actually.

1. Brad and I have had a busy week this week. His parents left for vacation on Tuesday so we have been taking care of their Pug, Yoda, their Yorkie, Obie, their three labs, Rip, Sage, and Case, and their horse, Deuce. Every morning, lunch, and after work we go and play with the inside dogs and feed them and let them get some exercise. Then we take care of the outside dogs and Brad handles the horse. It's not a problem since we are over there every day taking Amos- remember, he stays there for doggie daycare?

Brad's parents will be back on Sunday from their vacation to Pigeon Forge and Maggie Valley. I'm so jealous! I bet it's gorgeous there-- especially this fall when the leaves have changed! :)

2. Amos is at the Vet's today. I dropped him off at 7:30 this morning. He is having a little procedure and having his hips x-rayed. Hip problems are an issue with larger dogs like Amos and we thought it would be a great idea for them to xray him now since he will be knocked out now for the surgery. Let's hope he has some great, strong hips! I am supposed to call after 1:00 to check on him and then I can pick him up after work today. I'm sure he'll be super excited to see me after I left him there with those "mean" people that knocked him out and cut him open, not to mention they took his "manhood away" (as the vet so gently put it).

3. Fingers crossed, I should be going on a date tonight with my hubby! We're going to eat at a Chinese restaurant (YUCK) then going to watch a "chick flick". Ha! It's all about compromise. The good news is that the restaurant has great chicken and corn nuggets- not to mention an ice cream bar.

4. I don't have any definite plans this weekend (so far) but I know I'll be doctoring a sick dog. Maybe I should invite Chloe over; she loves to "doctor" on people with items from her doctor's bag. Brad and I might spend some time on the house this weekend. We have a little work to do on the guest room and a few light fixtures that need to be changed. He also wants to fly this weekend and if he goes Saturday then I will be going with him and making him take me to HOBBY LOBBY! They have set out their fall things AND their Christmas things!

5. Today is Sonic day. They're having a burger and shake special (but I don't want to ruin date night), but I'm thinking a cherry limeade and grilled cheese instead.

Have a great weekend! And take a nap this weekend. I heart naps!

Friday Five

I've been mentally taking notes for some random Friday five ideas; guess I should have put them on paper! Let's see...

Friday Five
1. Every Friday a group of ladies and I get together for breakfast. It's sort of our party for surviving the week. We have been doing this for years- as far back as I can remember. Ok, last week we couldn't meet so Brad went to breakfast with me. Remember the Huddle House ordeal? This week he couldn't so I ended up eating breakfast at home- Honey Nut Cheerios to be exact. Anyway, it just doesn't feel like Friday to me! I guess I should have gone somewhere to keep the tradition going...

2. Even if it doesn't feel that way, it IS Friday and it IS payday. I love when those two days coincide together. WOOHOO for me :) Although the mortgage is due Monday. Such a downer. At least I have my paycheck for the weekend!

3. I have a few errands to run on my lunch break. What's new? Hopefully I'll have time to make a stop at Sonic, OR the snow-cone place. It's practically August and I still haven't had one. (Note to self: check cash before leaving.)

4. I have nothing planned for this weekend. Nope; not one thing I am required to do. Although the laundry room is threatening me. I have become close friends with my new pet dust bunnies. They have taken over a few places in my house; but seriously? Who keeps a super clean house?

5. Completely random... after having house guests for 7-10 days I finally got every dish in my house clean. Yay for me! Now that I have every dish in the house clean, I realized I'm missing two bowls. Yes, two. I have NO idea where they are. I thought maybe Brad broke one and tossed it so I wouldn't find out, but two? Who loses two? Weird. Maybe that's what my pet bunnies are eating and drinking out of now. Hmm....

I'm off to lunch. And errands. And hopefully a fattening fast-food lunch. See ya!

Friday Five

5 interesting things about me this week:

1. I've worked in two different cities this week. Oxford and Corinth.

2. I've worked at three different branches this week. Oxford Square, Corinth Main, and Harper Road.

3. It is Friday and I have not had my Friday Sonic drink. Not yet anyway. It's still early.

4. Brad and I had breakfast at Huddle House where I ate way too much and couldn't even hold a drink at lunch. See #3.

5. I discovered (no thanks to Kayla) that Kirkland's has set out some of their Fall/Halloween decorative items already. Now, if only I knew where to put the three things I bought until time to set them out... somewhere that my husband doesn't know about... :)

I have no idea what this weekend holds for me, so I'll let you know when I know. Ha! :)

Friday Five

Friday Five

1. Went to Sonic for my weekly drink- ordered a lemon cream slush- got a lemon cream shake. Not too thrilled they messed up my order, but this is good. It goes on my list of favorites! It's almost too sweet (is that possible?)!

2. Our friend, Pug, from Arkansas is coming in this afternoon. Finally someone can stay in the guest room!! Ok, so Pug always falls asleep in Brad's recliner or on the couch- the man could sleep standing up. At least he'll have the chance to sleep in the guest room.

3. Pug's name isn't "Pug". He got the name because he looks like a Pug! HA! Don't worry, it doesn't bother him. He's had the name for years and he likes it much better than the name his mom gave him-- Sylvester. I call him Sly or Sylvester because he is always picking on me. For example... he sent me this text last night...
I miss you and I really want to see you, but this dumb security guard won't let me in the zoo. Can you escape? I have peanuts! I replied with "funny; you can just sleep in your truck this weekend!" He didn't' find that too funny.

4. Tomorrow morning my mom, sister, niece, grandmother, and I will be going to Memphis! We have a few places we need to go (mall, Hobby Lobby, Old Navy, etc...)

5. I really hope I can convince Brad to grill his famous burgers this weekend. They are SO good.

This is a picture of Pug, his daughter, Haley, and his son, Tyler; it was taken at my wedding. Tyler is such a character. He comes over a lot when Pug comes, but Haley's only been once- and that was for the wedding. She's not big on riding and it's a three hour drive!

I plan on trying out one or two new recipes next week. If they turn out edible I'll post them! Have a great weekend!

Friday Five

Friday Five for this week has me thinking what I want to share. Food is on my brain at the moment- imagine that? I'm always thinking about food. And since we are on the subject (excuse me for using "and" to start a sentence) the annual Slugburger Festival is this weekend. (This was the only info I could find!) Can't wait! We always go on Saturday night with Kenny & Jenessa. It's a tradition we have had since Brad and I started dating. This year we've moved it to tonight (Friday). Brad and I have plans tomorrow- more on that later. Normally we all get slugburgers and sit on the courthouse steps to eat and watch people. The slug fest brings out a variety of people-- some good, others bad. After that Brad and Jenessa ride a few of the rides and Kenny and I walk around. Yes, you read that right- Brad and Jenessa and me and Kenny. See, Kenny and I aren't "ride riding people" but Brad and Jenessa love too-- it all works out well if you ask me.

On to why we had to reschedule-- tomorrow night Brad and I will be meeting our Sunday school class at a family restaurant. We have been trying to get together since Christmas- yes, I know it's July. Afterwards, we plan on going bowling. I'm still processing this. I am terrible at bowling and I'd rather not make a fool out of myself in front of everyone, but I think it might be fun. Although, one girl won't be able to bowl-- she's expecting twin girls in six weeks!! I might keep her company on the bench :)

Sunday should be interesting. Brad and a fellow pilot, Charles, are flying out of Tupelo some time around 8am going to McCrory, AR then flying from there to Tunica, MS, then back to Tupelo. Both guys have their private pilot and they are building their hours for their commercial. Brad has about 70 hours right now and needs 250 to get his commercial. After they get back, Brad then has an appointment with his instructor, Thomas. Brad will be working his instrument rating that afternoon. He basically has to be able to take off and land the plane without seeing outside- only using his instruments. He has these "cool" shades he gets to wear, except his are black.

I plan on doing the regular wife thing this weekend- shopping, grocery shopping, cleaning, laundry, etc...

I almost forgot!!

Friday Five- Five Things That Have Happened This Week

1. Tuesday night was our monthly Bunco session. We met at Ashley's house this time... I love her house and she has the cutest little girl, Hallie. I also won "Most Buncos"! Go me!

2. I had to take Amos to the vet's office Wednesday. He has a serious ear infection in his left ear. He has been making weird noises this week- noises I've never heard him make. Noises I would imagine sounds similar to what dinosaurs used to sound like.

3. I bought a CD this week. Quite possibly the first one I've bought in over a year. It's Beyonce- her Sasha Fierce CD. I bought it with the gift card I got for winning at Bunco the other night.

4. I just had my first vanilla Coke from Sonic -- Not quite sure what to think. Either they somehow messed it up or I don't like it. It doesn't taste like vanilla or coke.

5. Hopefully, Brad and I will finish our guest bedroom this weekend. We need to trim out the window, hang the rods, valances, pictures and finish the bedside table. I am so excited about this.
If you've made it this far, I applaud you. I hope you have a great weekend!!

I hope you have a great weekend!!

Friday Five

Happy early Independence Day!!

I thought I would change things up a bit. My very generous boss is letting us close the bank at 3pm today!!

Friday Five: Below are my 5 favorite places to eat
1. Outback Steakhouse- their blooming onion, Aussie cheese fries, salads, steaks, etc... yum!
2. Papa Johns- I always get the pepperoni with extra pepperocini and garlic sauce.
3. Pizza Grocery- it's a local place similar to Old Venice. I usually order something different every time I go- although their JB Special pizza is my favorite.
4. Taylor's Escape- another local place. They serve steaks, chicken, bbq, ribs, etc... I always get their grilled chicken with a sweet potato and a salad. They have good steaks too!
Last but not least...
5. Baskin Robbins- ok, so I can't really "eat" there, but I have a serious love for ice cream. I swap between their chocolate chip cookie dough and their pralines-n-cream.

That's it for today... Can you tell I'm hungry?? Since I get to leave work at 3pm today I didn't feel the need to eat lunch while I was out; I'm regretting that now!

Have a fabulous Fourth of July!!

Friday Five

It's finally Friday...

Quick update: My sweet hubs hung the crown molding in the 2ND bedroom this week and helped me paint the baseboard molding. I hope to get it installed this weekend! I checked around for ideas about the broken window we have and it will be cheaper/easier to just replace the entire window rather than replacing the broken glass. Hopefully that will get worked into the schedule too!

Brad had plans to go to Arkansas this weekend to work on his club-house he has with some of his friends, but he just found out he will be working in town tomorrow.

Now it's time for...

Friday Five
1. I have been wanting sweet tea from Sonic all week long; however I'm also trying to go all week with no caffeine. I made it all week and today I decided I would allow myself ONE drink- my sweet tea from Sonic. I went straight there at lunch, placed my order, and waited. The carhop brought me my drink and I drove off. I took a huge gulp and it was PEACH TEA. I almost spit it out in my car! It's not that bad, but it's definitely not what I wanted!
2. I have weird ears- not sure how to describe them. I have never been able to wear any type of ear piece or ear bud in my left ear; it just doesn't fit comfortably.
3. Not a day goes by that I don't talk to my mom. Most days we talk several times. I wouldn't know what to do if I couldn't...
4. I started back meeting my friend, Mr. Treadmill, this week. Luckily, I got a huge blister on my right heel on Tuesday so I've had to go easy the last two days. :)
5. I'm shopping this weekend; I don't care if I have to drive to Memphis or Tupelo by myself. I'm going. I've been trying for weeks now, but things keep coming up. I need "me" time!

Ok, if you've been patient/bored enough to read through these I hope you have a fantastic weekend!!

Friday Five -- Times Two

TGIF!

That's really all I can say (or type). I absolutely loved being on vacation, but coming back to work has been a little stressful. A lot of work can pile up in three days. I am almost caught up- just in time for the weekend! Yesterday was full of bad news- news of two young men taking their own lives; news of a high school friend losing her husband six weeks after getting married; news of a friend's father getting bad news about cancer spreading throughout his body... I'm sick of bad news. If anyone knows any good news, tell me... I need to hear something good for a change! Ok, so I only have one person reading my blog, but still.... :)

I wasn't around a laptop or internet last week so I didn't get to do my Friday Five-- so I'll do it twice today. That's if I can think of 10 things.

Friday Five (Take One)
1. I think my dog, Amos, gained 5 pounds and grew 3 inches while I was gone. He's got to be close to 130lbs by now.

2. Chloe had her last t-ball game and played very well. I think she was glad it was over. It's crazy to have all those 3 & 4 year olds out facing the hot sun for an hour.

3. I went grocery shopping Tuesday and spent a whopping $44. Yep, we have almost starved ourselves this week. Not intentionally-- just wasn't in the mood to buy groceries when I went.

4. I've been letting my hair grow out for over a year now. Everyday I think I will cut it off, but then talk myself out of it. I would love to let it get long enough to donate to Locks of Love, but I doubt it will get that long (11 inches). Pantene accepts it at 8 inches. That's more reasonable for me. My hair grows soooooooooo slow- even with taking hair vitamins.

5. Everyday Brad and I take turns taking Amos to my mother-in-law's house. They live very close to town so it's easier to have him there. I am so thankful for that because I would hate to drive back home everyday at lunch to let him out.

Friday Five (Take Two)

1. I bought a Bumpit the other day. A friend/coworker had the cutest "hair-do" the other day and she let me in on her secret-- the bumpit! I have yet to make it look right, but I'm still trying. I'm just not in the habit of teasing my hair.

2. I keep my checkbook balanced to the penny- I have no idea what I will do if I ever leave the bank.

3. Now that all of my friends are married- they're all having babies! Babies everywhere! I had a friend have her little girl about two weeks ago and I've got another friend scheduled for a c-section next week. Don't worry- Brad and I plan on waiting for a long time before we think about kids.

4. I hope to do a little shopping this weekend, but I'm not sure if it will happen or not. I also want to work on the 2nd bedroom, but Brad will probably be busy all day and I can't hang crown molding by myself! :)

5. It's already the middle of June and I have yet to have a snow cone! I love snow cones and plan on getting one soon! Soon as in this weekend!

This isn't a 6th one, but I have yet to upload any of my vacation pictures. I promise to get that done this weekend. Have a great Father's Day!!!

Friday Five

Since today is Friday (thank goodness) and I get off work at five, I thought I would do a "Friday Five" post and post 5 random things.

1. I have worked with the same bank for almost seven years. I started during my first semester at Northeast.

2. I name my cars. I had Annie the Grand Am, Olivia the Oldsmobile, and now I'm with Prixie the Grand Prix. I would love to have Molly the Maxima or Piper the Pathfinder within the next year or so, but I'm really enjoying not having a car payment. I mean really enjoying it!

3. The first pet I can remember having was Bingo. He was my great-grandparent's Boston Terrier. My great-grandfather (Andrew- whom I never met) was a farmer and he named him Bingo. I stayed with my great-grandmother a lot when I was growing up. After she passed, I got Bingo! We kept him the rest of his life- I loved that dog. Sadly, I can't find any pictures of him. I plan on having another Boston one day.

4. I shot a blood vessel in my right eye sometime between Monday night and Tuesday morning. I haven't been able to wear my contacts since then and it's driving me crazy!

5. Not really random, but I'm working in Oxford this week. I do not miss being in school, but I miss living here. I spent almost three years here and although I didn't love it at first, I soon met some really great friends that I'll keep forever!

Hope you have a great weekend. I have NO idea what my plans are yet!
