WILW

Don't forget to link up today!

I'm loving Starburst!
I've been craving Starburst and finally got a small bag on Monday.
 I'm loving these brownie bites!
I'm not loving the calorie count though :(
I'm loving this oddball too! Even if I think he has more crazy days than normal ones :)
I'm loving this store. I can probably count on one hand how many times I've been into Loft since it opened in the mall in Tupelo. They have such cute things, but not cute prices. I lucked up on a good sale two weeks ago so now I'm stalking them again! :)
I'm loving Target, as usual! Too bad I have to drive 60+ miles to the closest one! Target people, if you are listening, please add Tupelo, MS to your list of places to build!
I found this dress and this dress this past weekend. Can't wait to wear them!

* I'm loving that fall clothes are starting to hit the shelves! Yes, I'm still buying for summer, but I LoVe fall. It's my favorite season!
* I'm loving my sweet Amos. I hate he can't be my little lap dog so instead, I crawl down in the floor and lay in his lap :) And when I do, he'll put his little big sweet paw on me.
* I'm loving my sweet, brave, precious mama for cleaning out my horrible, nasty, terrible, stinky, yucky, gross, nasty, horrible, very bad smelling frig this past week. It was bad. Very bad. Ugh, I might throw up {again} thinking about it. Yeah, I was hid out in the bathroom making friends with my toilet while my mom was cleaning that nastiness out. Ewww. Bless her. She's a tough woman.
*I'm loving that this Saturday night will be spent with a close friend and some others for a little Girl's Night Out. Jenessa's getting married in 9 days!

I think that's all for now! Happy Hump-Day everyone! I've got to get back to work :(

Just another Manic Monday

So, the camera stayed in the purse all weekend and not one single picture was taken. There just wasn't much to see! Next weekend should be better!

I was busy this weekend though! Friday night rounded out a week of VBS at my mom's church. Exhausted doesn't even begin to describe how I felt after it was over! Saturday, Kayla and I met up and went shopping in Jackson, TN. Our first stop was Trees N Trends and I was so disappointed! :( If you were in the mood for patio furniture then you were in luck. Those of us not shopping for that was definitely out of luck. We'll definitely have to go back this fall. Next up was Hobby Lobby and it didn't disappoint! Kayla was shopping for Minnie Mouse items for her niece's first birthday and we found several things. I also picked up a few things that were not on my list, but oh, well... Now if only I could find somewhere to put that pillow!! :) A few other places were Ulta {nail polish x 2}, Bed Bath & Beyond {hangers}, Dress Barn, Rue 21, Old Navy, Grass Monkey {two scarves}, Target, {two dresses & earrings} Dollar Tree and a party store. I'm not 100% sure that this is the complete list though! :) We rounded out our shopping trip with Steak N Shake! Yummy to my tummy! Eight hours after we left going, we returned home. Eight hours! It was super fun though! {Minus the part about me finding a lost little boy crying and terribly upset in Target. I really wanted to slap his mother, but I didn't. Heifer}

Brad got in from Arkansas right before I got home. We cleaned up and headed to a friend's 30th birthday party. Chad is the funniest guy you will ever meet. I call him sometimes when I'm having a bad day and he will have me rolling in tears in less than 5 minutes. In fact, one time I was laughing/snorting/crying so hard two people from around my office came in to check on me!

Sunday was an interesting day! We started it off at church, followed by lunch at Pizza Hut. I wish Brad didn't have such a love for PH, but oh well. Pizza is one of my favorite foods, but Pizza Hut buffet is not. Anywho, it wasn't that bad. After we ate, we headed to our house to check on this AND to show it to a lady.  A lady that never showed. I called; she didn't answer OR call me back. Heifer. We waited around 2 hours. In the mean time, we both took naps. Brad really does miss that enormous, leather recliner! I miss my couch as well, but it's all for a good cause, I suppose :) We headed back to the apartment and relaxed for a bit. Then we headed back to town to eat at a local steak house then home to bed because 3:20 am comes reallllly early!

This morning, I feel like a zombie. Amos kept me up most of the night and then I had to get up early with Brad. Then I could not go back to sleep {Amos was whining/crying}. Ugh! Zumba is going to kick my tail tonight- it's been two weeks and I haven't stayed the least bit active in those two weeks!

Hope you had a great weekend!

Random Thoughts

This week has been a whirlwind... I can't believe that tomorrow is Friday {normally the week just drags on and on, but not this week}. Instead of my What I'm Loving post or post about once certain thing, I thought I'd fill you in on the last few days all in one random post. Try to stay with me :)

My first chiropractor appt was Tuesday and it was Heaven. Should have gone sooner!

Found these little gems in a bin at Wal-Mart for 97 cents. They're so good! The next box will hang out in the frig for a while before I eat them though; I think they will be even better cold!

A fan similar to this helps Amos and me stay a little cooler at night. Couldn't live without it right now! It's July. In Mississippi!

Amos has had some nasty sores pop up and this stuff really helps!
 * I may or may not have *accidentally* turned off my frig at our house.
* It may or may not smell like a dead animal... in my house... it's nasty. Beyond nasty. Thank God for moms! Mine is going to clean that mess out!
* Amos is getting better at taking his vitamins and that really helps this mom out! You try forcing 3 big pills down a 190lb dog's mouth after he shuts his jaw- it's like steel!
* It's hot. Too hot. But I found this on the world wide web and now I will shut up:
“I was going to complain about how hot it is... then I realized: 1.) It isn't 109 degrees; 2.) I'm not 5,700 miles from home; 3.) I'm not dressed in a full BDU uniform & helmet and carrying 70+ lbs. of gear; and 4.) There is very little chance that anyone will shoot at me or that I might drive over a bomb in the road today! Thanks to all who serve!!”

* I must clarify that it is 109 degrees in MS, BUT you get the idea!! I'm sorry, I'm just one of those people that like to make sure things are explained. Fully.
* I'm going shopping this weekend with Kayla. I hope to find/buy a few things!
* Saturday night, a friend is having a 30th birthday party. Chad is the funniest guy you will ever meet. He has me in tears every time I see him {I cry every time I laugh}.
* The weight gain/loss thing is annoying me.
* Chloe starts school in two weeks. I am in awe. Yesterday she was still a tot in diapers running around with her mullet!
* I hope Brad gets to come in this weekend. 1) I want him to be able to go to Chad's b-day party. 2) I don't want to drive an hour to Jackson, TN, shop all day, then drive an hour home only to pack up and drive two hours to Nowhereville, AR. 3) Brad would rather come in town than stay in his tin-can.
* I've been helping my mom's church with VBS this week and I'm exhausted! We go straight home after work, change, then straight to church. If I keep going downhill, by Saturday morning I will need a swift kick to get out of bed!
* Amos still hasn't stopped shedding.
* I'm not liking the fact that Big Brother is already making me nervous! Hello! It's only week 2! I'm not happy with the fact that Jordan didn't put up Brendon and Rachel. That "red haired hyena" drives me nuts! That's Whitney's nickname for her :)
* Tomorrow is Friday!! I go back to the chiropractor! It's only 75% awkward. I know him. Knew him in high school. We were good friends. I used to pet his hair {true story, the boy has the softest hair!} and sit next to him on school trips. Oh, and we went to Prom together. I {the senior} took him {the junior} and it was fun. Anywho, awkward! But it was nice too.
* Want me to keep going? No? OK, fine, but I have a dozen more points I could use...
Happy Friday Eve!

Thankful Thursday

I have been quite the Debbie Downer lately and it stinks! I am such a "Cranky Cassie" or "Negative Nancy" and I'm to the point where I'm even annoying myself! So, to start things off in more of a "Positive Patsy" kind of way I'm listing a few things that make me beyond thankful...

1. Family- My mom and dad have let me & Amos {and sometimes Brad} move in next door to them for free. Yes, I try to give money, but she puts it back into my savings so what am I supposed to do?  My sister and niece come over every week day and let Amos out at lunch {Brad and I used to take turns doing this and it was getting expensive and time consuming} and then mom and dad let him out when I'm not there. They're always inviting me to eat with them so I have access to free food and snacks :)

2. Friends- They keep me sane. Period. I'm lucky enough to work with a very good friend of mine so we're constantly emailing or visiting each other. Other friends I email regularly and meet on weekends or after work. It doesn't happen too often since we all stay pretty busy, but we still meet up!

3. Amos- Dogs {I'm not a cat person} give unconditional love. If Amos wasn't hitting the 200lb mark I would let him on the couch with me. I've done that a few times and he just lays his little big head in my lap. He is not an active dog, but he gets up and meets me every time I come home. He's so protective of me when I'm home alone and he's beyond jealous when he sees me holding my first-born {Toby, the mini chihuahua} that my parents adopted.

4. My job- I don't talk much about my job on the ole blog, but I started at this bank in 2002 when I was in college. I have worked in two different cities and three different branches and my sweet boss even made a position for me and hired me full time after I graduated college. It's an 8:15-4:30/5 job most of the time and it's ok if I'm a little late or leave a little early or take a longer lunch some days. I work with some sweet ladies and never get bored. Don't get me wrong; it's not all rainbows and sunshine everyday, but I'm pretty spoiled here. {If I ever leave here, I'd prefer to work with men though. It's a hen house here!}

5. My sweet husband {AKA: B-rad, husby, honey, babe, goof-ball}- Wow, does he put up with a lot? That man has the patience of Job, I promise you. When we started our journey... oh, 9 years ago... I had no idea what I was getting myself into! As the "head of the house", he takes his role pretty seriously {even though we all know I make most of the decisions :)} He is by far an "eye on the prize" and tunnel vision person and will not give up until he has what he wants. Granted, I had no idea that one month after getting married he would decide to start flying, leave the family business and pursue a job as a crop-duster, but he gives everything 100%. He listens to my rants and raves and random talks. He makes sure I'm taken care of. He lets me have my "moments" and that's only a tiny part of why I love him. I did tell him the other day that when he does finally start making money, that I would finally start spending money :) He didn't disagree. He knows this is truth. He accepts it. He moves on.

6. Health- We all take our health for granted, don't we? That is, until we're sick or hurt! I've never broken a bone {I tried, but just couldn't}, I've only been hospitalized over night one time {tonsillectomy gone bad}. I've never made a trip to the ER {well, except that one ambulance ride}. I've never really had anything big happen so all in all I'm pretty healthy. I type this as I'm hunkered over because of a pain in my back and I'm rubbing my knee since the pain is flaring up, but you get the point :)

I could keep going, but I'll stop for now. Wait, one more thing.

7. Air Conditioning!! Hello, it's July. In Mississippi. We've been under a heat advisory and or heat warning practically all summer. It's hot people. Now, if only my boss would bump the thermostat from 68 to a nice 73ish, I would be even more thankful! :)

Is anyone else ready for fall weather or is it just me? I'm not the type to rush my life away, but I despise summer. I went shopping this weekend and most of the stores have out their fall clothes and I just wanted to snatch up all the long sleeves, sweaters and darker colored clothing. A pasty white girl with dark hair just can't pull off summer colors as well as fall colors!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Happy Hump-Day! I'm trying to get back in the 5 day work week groove, but it's been a slow process :) But, today is Wednesday {even though I feel like it's Thursday} so that means it's time for...

Make sure to click here and find out what everyone else is loving today!

First up, I'm loving this new mascara. I have really short eyelashes plus they tend to break off easily. I tried this on a whim and I'm really liking it so far. The wand is a tiny bit too "fat" for my short lashes, but I can get past that.
I'm loving these jumbo marshmallows too! You practically hold it and bite like you would if you were eating an apple :)
I'm loving this little lady, Jenessa. Her wedding is in 3 weeks! This pic was taken at her wedding shower, outside, in MS, in July, at 630 pm. I think we look pretty good! :)
I'm loving this picture. After the shower, some of us went to Mike's to hang out {the girls} and throw darts {the boys}. It's me, Lindsey, Jenessa, and Jeanne Beth.

I wanted to share pictures of what I bought this weekend, but Target will not let me save the pics?! Oh, well...  Have a great day!

Uh oh!

So, remember those pictures I told you I would post? That's where my title comes in... Uh oh! I had my camera in my purse all weekend and did not take one single picture! Forgive me! It really stinks too because I was super busy and had a really good time. Hopefully I can steal borrow some from facebook sometime soon!

Let's start off with Friday night, shall we? I was pretty lazy starting about 8pm so I got some much needed rest before my crazy weekend began. Saturday, I was up at 7 and we were out the door by 830 headed to Memphis for a little shopping. Mama Lynn joined mother, Courtney, Chloe and myself and we were very productive! We hit up Target, Kohl's, Hobby Lobby, Justice, Old Navy, and the mall (only a couple of stores). I ended up with 2 pairs of dress pants for work, 1 pair of linen pants, 1 dress/tunic {definitely a tunic for me and I'm only 5'5!}, 1 top, and 2 sweaters. I was pretty pumped! The dress pants were the only thing that were full price; everything else was on sale except the sweaters and they were on clearance. Chloe got probably 10 or more outfits mainly from Target, a few tops from Justice and two new pairs of shoes from Stride Rite.

We got home just in time for me to change clothes and head to a wedding shower. It was an outside shower at 630 pm in Mississippi in July. No further explanation needed :) It was nice though! Jenessa is using a Robin's Egg blue and burlap in her wedding so that's the colors they used for the shower. We had bbq, beans, slaw plus four types of homemade ice cream and cookies. They got several nice gifts and now have more than everything they will need to grill out.

I left the shower at 830 {Brad had to work late and couldn't go with me} and met Brad and Levi at Mike's. We sat around talking until about 10 when Jim & Jenessa and the leftover friends from the shower came in. The guys threw darts all night and *luckily* they threw us out at midnight! The ladies were more than ready to head home. It had been a very long day, but it was nice hanging out with people you don't normally see- especially since Brad and I have been spending most of our free time in Arkansas these days.

Sunday was a whirlwind as well. We went to church, grocery shopped, ate lunch with Levi, showed the house, then came home so Brad could change the oil in his truck and I could clean and do laundry. Then we grilled hot dogs and made homemade ice cream with my parents. Needless to say I was a tad bit happy about coming back to work this morning. I needed a break after the alarm went off at 320am this morning. I had to wake Brad up so he could get on the road headed back to AR. It was too late last night when we finished up.

This week is going to be rather boring! Tonight and Thursday I have zumba and other than that I'm free. I plan on spending my free time watching my summer shows {that now include Big Brother!}. :)

Happy Monday!!

Friday Five

This week's Friday Five will be a tad on the boring side, but I'm posting them anyway!

1. I'm having lunch tomorrow with my "Bunco girls". We used to meet once a month at someone's house to eat and play Bunco. Before long it was more like chatting and a round or two of Bunco. Now we only meet to eat! HA! And chat :) In fact, we haven't all gotten together since last fall. Pretty much everyone in the group is either married or a mom or both or some sort of busy so it's hard for all of us to get together. Tomorrow should be fun since we'll have plenty to talk about :)

2. After lunch, Whitney and I are headed straight to the theater. We've narrowed it down to Bridesmaids or Fast Five. Chick-flick comedy or Vin Diesel? We.cannont.decide. It's Vin, people?! Whit and I both have a love for Vin. What girl doesn't? His voice, his skin, his perfectly bald head... I wont' tell you how long it took me to google pictures of him; just couldn't decide...

3. Brad is hopefully coming in this weekend; if not, then I'll be heading to Arkansas again.

4. Let's hope Brad can come in; our grass is in desperate need of mowing! Other than that, Hinkle is pretty well maintained. Now if only I could keep the apartment clean! :)

5. I hope to fit in my Sweet Saturday this weekend. I've been thinking about another Sonic Double Stuf Oreo blast since it's only here for a limited time, a Rolo McFlurry {never had one}, Jimmy John's ice cream again, or a sno-cone. Maybe Brad can help me decided!

Happy weekend everyone!!

I is for I spy...

Saturday, May 14 I headed west to Arkansas! I noticed after I drove over the TN/AR bridge that water was still very high, but I didn't have my camera out so I couldn't snap any pictures. Later on that afternoon Brad and I headed even farther west to McCrory, to Pug's house. Along the way we saw this... more flooded fields! Notice that hay bell in the bottom corner?

This was an entire field, completely under water!

See the tops of the fence posts?

This is the southern part of Crowley's Ridge in AR. From what I've heard, this area became famous in 1937 after the MS river flooded. When the river did flood, it came as far out as Crowley's Ridge which is over 40 miles from the river!

On our way to Pug's, he talked with Brad and told him that my car would not make it down his road. There had been more flooding and we would need Brad's truck to make it. We turned around and got Brad's truck {and me a pair of boots}. When we got close to his road, we saw this... Apparently, a catfish farmer decided to take matters into his own hands. He used dynamite to blow a levee to save his fish ponds, but in turn, it flooded a very large area! That man is now in jail :) It's probably safer for him there anyway...

The area between the grass and dirt is Pug's road!

Yeah, my car would have never made it!

Pug's driveway {or where it normally is} and his house

Me sportin' Brad's boots!

I put away the camera until Sunday when I was headed back over the bridge. This is the Mississippi, er, the overflow from the Mississippi!

See the sign?

Power poles!

Definitely something I've never seen before and hope I never see again. I just wish the pictures would do it justice. It was actually a lot worse, but this is what I could get... the other time I was in charge of driving :) I don't think the other cars really cared for me passing them while snapping pictures out the window, but oh well!

H is for ???

H is for Happy Birthday, Hair and another Happy Birthday!!
April 9, 2011 Brad turned the big 3-0!

This is how Brad felt about it... Ha! In his defense, I had just woken him up and he was headed to AR {coffee in hand}. Plus he didn't want to pose. Oh well! You only turn 30 once, right? Well, maybe if you're a man. Women get to be any age twice-- just keep reading!

This is what happened when I asked him to pose with me. I wish I would have gotten to prepare somewhat, but he was only willing to do one picture in the 40mph wind! I started not to post it {for obvious reasons}, but it's the only one I got and I will just have to deal with it. :)
Next up... April 28, 2011
I decided enough was enough and I had my hair CUT. Around 7 inches to be exact.
I should have tried to get a better "after" shot, but let's face it... I was busy and tired and just didn't feel like it! Ha! I did take pics of the back, but they didn't turn out well. First off, the lighting wasn't working and secondly, my mirror is small and high off the ground {I was on my tippy-toes taking this}.

Ta-da!
Monday, May 2, 2011 Brad and I celebrated my 27th birthday. It was a day early, but Brad had to go back to Arkansas. The only reason he isn't in this picture is because he was running late getting back from town and I was ready to put on my pjs and wash my face. I never claimed to be a girly girl!

Tuesday, May 3, 2011- I turned 27 {or as I like to call it, 26.2}

I came home to balloons on my "apartment". Oh, the windows on the left with the white blinds... that's my bedroom and the French doors lead to my living room. I promise to post pictures soon. I have a few things left on the ol' to-do list.
I can NOT get this picture to turn?! This was the end of the sidewalk leading from the driveway/apartment to Mom and Dad's.

Chloe ran to me when I got home and yelled "Happy Birthday Aunt Cassie!!! I spelled it wrong. I spelled your name wrong!!!" Ha! Bless it. S's are tough for everyone, right?! :)

We had pizza, cheese sticks and.....

Ice Cream Cake!!!

Again, with the sideways pics?!

Love the flower though...

You know there is a small child around when you use Sesame Street plates! :)

Mmmm....cookies and cream! I usually get the pralines and cream, but mom swapped it up this time and it was good! I'm on an Oreo kick lately. Chloe and I ate the green flower so we could turn our mouths/lips/tongue green.

I was spoiled again this year with gifts from family and friends. I really do have the best friends that are true friends. Glad everyone could help me celebrate turning 26.2!
