Friday Confessional

Photobucket

I confess...
  • that I had a Mt. Dew today... and it was wonderful.
  • that I've watched {possibly} too much tv this week.
  • that I'm going to spend tonight and/or tomorrow cleaning.
I confess...
  • that I freaked out about Amos this week.
  • that is he finally feeling a little better.
  • that I feel responsible for him being sickly.
I confess...
  • that I haven't bought my mom & dad's birthday gifts yet. Mom's is tomorrow and dad's is Sunday.
  • that I have no idea what I'm getting them.
I confess...
  • that I haven't "gone off" on anyone today {either in front of them or behind their back while I'm alone in my office}
  • that I have been in a good mood most of the day {Mt. Dew high, perhaps?}
  • that I have discovered pinterest.com
  • that I have been doing some major "pinning" since then.
I confess...
  • that I have no idea what I'm doing this weekend.
  • that I've been invited to a ummm some sort of house party thingy. What was it???
  • that I have a friend's wedding reception tomorrow afternoon.
  • that I might skip it all and head to Arkansas.
I confess...
  • that I'm flipping thrilled it's Friday!! Woot Woot!! :)
Happy Friday!!!

Week of Movies

Thanks to free movie channels this past weekend, I used plenty of my DVR storage space! I have watched three movies so far...
 This wasn't my first time to watch Juno. I've watched it once before and liked it. It's definitely different, but I laughed out loud several times!

 This was my first time to watch 500 Days of Summer and let's just say I was surprised at the ending. I'm not a huge fan of movie jumping around {Day 342 then to Day 156}, but it wasn't too difficult to keep up with. I love both leading actors and the friends are hilarious!

I had read several, several mixed reviews about this movie. I heard everything from "don't waste your time" to "it's a MUST watch". Of course, probably the only reason I watched it was good ole Robert". I will say I wasn't expecting that to happen at all. I normally have a good idea of what's going to happen, but maybe because I was watching and taking care of Amos or maybe because I was that into it that I just didn't see that coming. At all. I won't say anymore just in case you haven't watched it yet. I have probably said enough already. The movie seems slow, but I'm glad I watched it.

I've also been to the theater twice this week. That never happens! I love going to watch movies, but at the outrageous price I find myself only watching movies I just can't live without! I wish you could get a movie card sort of like a Kroger card or Petsmart card! That would be nice! Malco, are you listening??

First up was... Crazy, Stupid Love. I watched this Saturday with Whitney!! {We were the only ones to watch it!}
 Words cannot describe this movie, but I'll try... awesome, hilarious, freaking awesome, freaking hilarious, super funny, yum-o, love, favorite, and well... you get the idea. Folks, I WILL be buying this. I might even fork out the money to watch it in the theater again.

Next up was the Help. I watched this with Kayla on Tuesday.

 We went to the 7:30 show and didn't leave until 10! We were the youngest in the theater by about 20 or so years! It was super crowded for a Tuesday at 7:30, but since they were all older {and mature} you could still watch the movie in peace without teenagers giggling and talking and texting the whole time. If you haven't read the book, then stop what you are doing and go read it! Then watch this movie. For the first time in a long time, the movie is reallllly close to the book! Yay! Of course a few things were swapped around, but you have to do that to keep from having a 4 hour movie. I really enjoyed this! Of course, I've lived in Mississippi my whole life and it amazes me how things used to be. I'm so glad things have changed. The South gets looked down on so often, and it's so sad. I can't help what people did 50-60 years ago. I can only do my best today.

Next up on my movie list? Not sure! I have plenty more sitting and waiting on me thanks to my handy-dandy DVR. Then I find out this morning that since my parents are now such loyal customers that we get free movie channels for 3 months. Score! :) Have a great weekend and go watch a movie!

WILW: Photos

I thought I'd do something a little different today. I haven't had time to look for pictures of things I am currently loving, so I thought I'd give you a small glimpse into my train of thought lately... These are all pictures I am currently loving and I want to share them with you! Enjoy :)
Don't forget to click here and link up!
I'm sure you've all seen these in emails, but I tend to save these wordless photos and use them for my desktop background or in those random moments where I need to clear my head or chill out :) Haha!

This one is quite possibly my favorite! How cute is this?!?!

This sums up July in Mississippi!

And this one sums up August! :)

I hope you all have a great day! It's hump day! :)

Bigger car, maybe?

I took these pictures one day after taking Amos for his bath... Enjoy!

My view of the back seat

All the way from one side...

to the other!

His little tail fails down once you open the door!

"No pictures please"

Once inside, he just falls over!

"I'm not looking at you. I'm not looking. Stop!"

If I look, will you go away?

Luckily Amos should be done growing by now! I'm not sure my car could hold him if he got any bigger!

Hope you all have a great weekend!!

I confess

... that instead of running into Kroger this morning I kept on driving- Jason Aldean was blaring on the radio!
... that I have had fast food one too many times this week.
... that I have been a certified heifer this week. Sorry!! I'm not sure what the funk is about, but it needs to get out of here!

I confess

... that something good happened this week {just can't tell you yet}!
... that I'm not getting excited about the good thing that just happened. It's too early! {Amos is NOT becoming a big brother}
... that I am ok with the results from last night's BB episode. A girl can change her mind, right?

I confess

... that I am going to have to start thinking about the future of the Hinkle House.
... that I need to figure out what I'm going to do with all of my furniture and belongings that are just camped out there.
... that I enjoy going to "visit" my house. I love my little house and I'll be sad when she's not a part of me anymore.

I confess

... that I'm craving junk food!
... that I skipped zumba last night. The guy was coming to work on my air conditioning unit! It is August. In Mississippi. The only thing worse than July in Mississippi is August in Mississippi.
... that I did pay the guy after he told me not to do so. I am just that kind of person! :)

I confess

... that I'm already shopping for fall clothes {haven't bought anything yet}
... that I don't want to rush this season of life away, BUT I love fall. LoVe.
... that I am itching to get out of town for a day or two.
... that I miss Oxford and need a day to visit before football season starts and all heck breaks loose. Have you been in that town on game day? Insane!

I think that is enough confessions for one day, don't you? Hope you ALL have a great weekend!!

It really is ok, right?

It's OK...

... if you are an emotional eater every now and then. Ice cream and French fries really do solve problems!
... if you sometimes think violent thoughts about coworkers.
... if you give the evil eye to the guy next to you for taking up two parking spaces {one was a handicap space}
... if you sneak into the boardroom, shut the doors and then do a happy dance.
... if you think about turning your phone off because you are tired of dealing with a certain someone.
... if you type long, drawn out blog posts then delete them because you feel better already.
... if you think about calling in sick one day just to take a "mental health day".
... if you are that mom that calls about every little issue with your dog.
... if you think about smacking the McDonald's lady.
... if you eat McDonald's more than once in a week.
... if you completely ignore certain people.
... if you feel like popping a blood pressure pill and a Valium on some days... don't worry, I'm drug free :)
... if you get in your car, shut the door then scream and yell until you feel better
... if you lay in the floor with your dog instead of cleaning
... if you think you have the best friends and everyone else is crazy.
... if you are already sad that your niece's birthday is at the end of September and she'll be 6.
... if you need some "me" time.
... if you watch way too much tv sometimes. It's nice to escape from reality, right?
... if you think Rachel should be voted off immediately despite the fact that she would help Jeff & Jordan.
... if you say "tomorrow is a new day" more than once in a day.
... if you have to stop and pray after an encounter with an idiot.
... if you have to PAY for a service call for your air conditioner when your inlaws own the business {and your husband has been a tech for 10 years}... whatever keeps me and the Amooster cool, you know?

Hey, it's OK! Today is Thursday and tomorrow is Friday!

WILW: Amos

You know what to do!

What I'm Loving is that Amos is healthy!!

What I Love includes the following items! {I'll give you a second to scroll down and see then come back here! :)}

Oh, you need to me explain? Hehehe... let's start at the beginning, shall we?
My dog is "special". He has a routine and you do.not.stray. from the routine or you will have a 200 pound mess on your hands. Do not move his bed, food bowl, or any piece of furniture or he will freak out. Seriously. Anywho, let me speed up... He has always, always gone to potty at or around 730am, 12, 5pm and 10pm. Those times can adjust 30 minutes to an hour, but that is all you're getting. SO imagine how I felt when all of a sudden Amos is only going out every 12-18 (or more!) hours?!?!

This "mama' just knew something was wrong. Not only was he not going, but he wasn't even getting up off the floor! I called the vet and they suggested ME collecting a urine sample and bringing it to THEM. HUH? "You want me to do what?" I think is what I mumbled.  Yeah, it was either that or load him up and carry him myself! So, I put on my big girl panties gloves and grabbed an old Betty Crocker icing tub with lid and followed him outside... You can imagine what happened next.

 Did you imagine me chasing him around the house with my pretty blue gloves and cup hoping and praying he would stop long enough to let me catch him? Because that is what happened.
 Guess what? I took my sample {in the can with lid, in a gallon size freezer bag} to the vet and the sample was "no good". What? Huh? Really? They need fresh pee and it needs to be in a cooler. Too bad they didn't tell me that before!!! I go back home for round number 2 of "catching the pee" and it was still a game to that poor dog. He wouldn't get out of the floor so I had to ram him {gently} with the vacuum cleaner until he got up!

This time I got TWO samples for them.
 After all that "fun" I feel like this woman!
{Side note: I googled "frazzled woman" and got this. Really? She's a 50's housewife-- how is she frazzled??}

 The Vet's office called later to tell me that Amos does NOT have a UTI. He's probably "being rebellious". Huh? We moved over 4 months ago and he is just now rebelling? Whatevs.

Now he's holding it over 20 hours and I think that's insane, but apparently Vets do not.

If you made it to the end... CONGRATULATIONS!! I know this isn't my typical WILW posts, but I really do LOVE my dog and I LOVE that he doesn't have a UTI. I also LOVE the fact that my life consists of text messages like this: "Gone home for more dog pee" or "I just took a 200lb Mastiff's urine sample all by myself" or "You owe me!! I just chased your dog around the house to catch his pee in Mama Lynn's icing tub!!"

HAHAHAHA
Have you done anything interesting lately?? I'll leave you with a picture of my patient! :)
